WORKSHOPS FOR GRADES K – 2

Disney Alive!

Young dancers will learn the basics of coordination, all the while creating pictures and stories from their favorite Disney books and films!  Working with dance professional Erica Duffield, students will experience creative movement while igniting their imaginations. The opportunity for students in Disney Alive can be taken far beyond the class as children learn the basics of dance to create stories from familiar fairy tales for family and friends.

Instructor: Erica Duffield

Date: Thursdays – April 18 – May 16
Time: 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm
Where: Lebowsky Center
Class Fee: $50*

* It is our belief that every student should have the opportunity to be inspired by the performing arts regardless of means.  Please call Kathy Brooks at 989.720.3410 to inquire about scholarships for this class.

Props and Puppets

Children will meet weekly with instructor Kelly Oginsky to create puppets based on characters from their favorite books!  Kelly will introduce students to the use of props. In the final class, children will explain puppetry and storytelling, display their work for their families, and demonstrate how a prop they made might be used in a show! This is an incredible opportunity for students to better their motor skills and problem-solving skills.
