- Procedure. Sometimes, the choreographer will teach
small groups a short routine consisting of four basic steps. The
choreographer is looking for limberness, flexibility, competence
in following directions, memory of the steps, coordination, and
grace.
- Effort is everything. Usually, not everyone in a
musical is required to dance. But you must still be a trouper
and give it your best shot. If you are stubborn, you risk making
the director think that you will be trouble and balk at every
direction.
- Smile. Sometimes those smiles look fake but even a
fake smile is better than a frown. If you smile, it draws
attention from your dancing and makes the director be less
critical (sometimes).
